GIRLS BASKETBALL: Tyler’s 23 lead Neah Bay over Clallam Bay; other area reports

CLALLAM BAY — The third-ranked Neah Bay Red Devils remained undefeated and improved to 2-0 in North Olympic League play with a 67-26 road win over Clallam Bay.

Kaela Tyler led Neah Bay on Friday with 23 points, eight rebounds and four assists. She made 3 of 9 shots from 3-point range.

Hailey Greene and Tristin Johnson added 10 points each for the Red Devils. Johnson also had six rebounds and three steals.

Molly McCoy led Clallam Bay with nine points, while Kaylin Signor added five and Jennica Maines and Inga Erickson scored four apiece.

The Red Devils (9-0 overall) plays at Crescent on Wednesday.

The Bruins play that same day, on the road against Taholah.

Quilcene 59, Christian Faith 33

QUILCENE — The Rangers rolled against the Eagles thanks to the six 3-pointers and 22 points provided by Allison Jones.

Jones also added six rebounds, three assists and a steal.

Thursday’s win came despite a Herculean effort from Christian Faith’s 6-foot-1 Katrice Pond. Pond scored all 33 of the Eagles points in the contest.

“When she got the ball in the paint, all [we] could do was hold ground and stay straight up,” Quilcene coach Briana Weller said.

Megan Weller added 18 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals for the Rangers (2-3, 9-5).

Sammy Rae scored six points, with 16 rebounds, seven assists and four steals, and Katie Love added nine points and 14 boards.

Quilcene visits Muckleshoot on Friday.

SEQUIM — A balanced Wolves scoring attack jumped on the Knights early and often in the blowout win.

Hailey Lester led Sequim with 10 points, Adrienne Haggerty added nine and Caitlin Stofferahn and Elise Beuke had eight points apiece in Friday’s game.

Kylee Williams led Sequim in assists and rebounds with five of each.

Katherine Landoni added three steals for Sequim (4-3, 8-7), which visits league-leading Kingston (6-0, 11-1) on Tuesday.
