FORKS — With its Pacific League girls basketball title wrapped, Forks closed its home slate with a solid 59-31 senior night victory over Ocosta.
“I’m proud of our seniors,” coach David Hurn said. “There was a great crowd and the community has shown them support over the years, so it was nice to give them one last look before we begin the playoffs.
“[Ocosta] is post-dominant and we held their post in check.”
Senior Keira Johnson notched 33 points as the school’s all-time leading scorer added to her tally.
Seniors Janessa Ramos (two points) and Brynn Daniels also were honored.
“They each have a really great story,” Hurn said. “They come from different backgrounds and experiences in life, but the one thing common between all three is their drive and determination to get through adversity. So if they keep that mindset going, they will continue to find success.”
Forks (9-0, 15-5) visits Chief Leschi in its regular season finale on Tuesday.

SEQUIM — Bobbi Mixon drained all six 3-point shots she attempted and Jolene Vaara nearly pulled off a triple-double as the Wolves edged out the Bulldogs.
“Jolene and Bobbi were clutch tonight, they wouldn’t let us lose,” coach Joclin Julmist said.
“Bobbi was great, she led us in scoring with 25 points. She also had six rebounds and four steals. She’s been on a roll lately.”
Vaara had to work inside when Sequim lost post Dani Herman to an ankle injury in the second quarter.
“Jolene stepped up big tonight in every area after losing Dani,” Julmist said. “She finished with 19 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and three steals, filling up the stat line. She was amazing on the offensive boards, grabbing eight of them, and shot well from the free-throw line (9 of 13).”
Hailey Wagner also played well off the bench.
“Hailey Wagner came in and gave us a big boost off the bench,” Julmist said. “She had eight points and eight rebounds and played great defense.”

TACOMA — The Rivals suffered a bitter defeat on the road against the Eagles.
“This was a tough loss for us, but the team will grow from it,” coach Lorraine Rimson said.
“We were without Teri [Wiley], and we missed her. LC is extremely physical, and we are not. This was not a great matchup for us. This is the first adversity the girls have experienced on the court this year. I fully expect the girls will bounce back stronger than ever. It is who they are as individuals and as a team.”
East Jefferson (6-3, 6-7) hosts Charles Wright on Tuesday.

CLALLAM BAY — The Crescent girls basketball team got 20 points from Ciara Cargo-Acosta and another 15 from Naomii Sprague in a 47-7 victory over Clallam Bay.
Cargo-Acosta also had eight rebounds, while Sprague had a great all-around game with eight assists and nine steals. Chloe Ferry-May had 10 rebounds, and Alexis Dunavant had eight points.
Crescent (11-5) plays at Oakville tonight and then hosts No. 1-ranked Neah Bay (12-2) at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday. Clallam Bay (4-11) also lost to Northwest Christian 34-28 on Saturday and will wrap up its season in Port Angeles on Wednesday, playing the Roughriders’ C Team.
