FORKS — Port Townsend got 24 points, including 16 in the second half, from Jazmine Apker-Montoya and came from behind in the second half to beat Forks on the road 48-41.
Apker-Montoya bounced back with her highest scoring game of the year after an injury in the Crush in the Slush late last month.
Rian Peters scored 18 for the Spartans, while Skyler DeMatties had 12 and Jayden Olson nine.
Forks, which has had several close losses this year, was up 24-20 at the half and was clinging to a narrow 35-34 lead after three quarters.
“They have some terrific outside shooters,” said Port Townsend coach Scott Wilson.
Wilson said that in addition to Apker-Montoya’s second-half scoring explosion, the Redhawks’ Izzy Hammett and Jenna Carson played strong in the post.
Port Townsend (6-4, 2-1) is done with pre-league play. The Redhawks will at Chimacum at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Auburn Adventist 50
AUBURN — Quilcene won an important road game, holding off Auburn Adventist 53-50 thanks to 19 points from Allison Jones and 15 from Katie Love.
“This team was loaded with 14 quick and savvy players. This team has guards that can drive and shoot and a strong post player. It was challenging to keep all these threats contained but the girls did a great job of playing tough defense and adjusting to Auburn’s offensive attacks,” said coach Brianna Weller.
The Rangers scored 20 points in the second quarter, adjusting to the Falcons’ tough defense.
“The level of hustle, desire, and energy from all the girls was exciting. It was by far their best effort of the season,” Weller said.
Sydney Brown and Abby Weller each added eight points for the Rangers. Coach Weller said Abby Weller also had a solid game on defense.
Quilcene (7-3, 2-1) next plays at Muckleshoot Wednesday.

CLALLAM BAY — Neah Bay beat their nearby rival 42-36, thanks to 14 points from Tristin Johnson and and 11 from Cei’J Gagnon.
The Bruins were led by Atokena Abe with 10, Miriam Wonderly with nine and Mariah LaChester with eight in Friday’s game.
The Red Devils (6-2) played at Evergreen Lutheran Saturday and will next play Crescent at home at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The Bruins (6-3) will next play at Mary Knight at 5 p.m. Monday.

JOYCE — Crescent held Chief Kitsap to just two points in the second half and 15 points overall in a 31-15 win, the Loggers’ second straight victory.
The Loggers got 10 points each from Hannah Lee and Alyssa Hutto in Friday’s win.
McKenzie Brannan and Raine Westfall each had nine rebounds for the Loggers and Hutto added six steals.

CHIMACUM — Coupeville was able to fend off Chimacum despite 18 points from the Cowboys’ Mechelle Nesbet in an Olympic League 1A Division contest.
“This was a tight game most of the way and our girls worked hard but foul trouble really affected us and losing two starters for a quarter of play each really hirt us bad. Our bench did a good job of keeping us in there but the foul trouble was a big factor for sure,” said coach Trevor Huntingford.
“We need to be better on the boards which is where Coupeville hurt us the most with second chance opportunities,” Huntingford said.
Chimacum (7-5, 1-3) next hosts league rival Port Townsend at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

SEQUIM — The Sequim girls snapped a three-game losing streak and evened their record with a win over North Mason 54-40.
The Friday win puts the Wolves at 5-5 overall (3-3 in Olympic League 2A Division).
Sequim next plays at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Coupeville.
