QUILCENE — Quilcene snapped a three-game losing streak and evened its Sea-Tac 1B League record at 4-4 with a 52-18 win over Christian Faith.
”It was a boost to the team’s morale to get this win as the girls are coming off a tough … series of away games in the Tacoma area. It is nice to get back in our gym and get off the road for a few games,” said coach Brianna Weller.
Weller said the Rangers did a nice job of attacking the basket and finding the gaps in the Eagles’ 2-3 zone.
Katie Love led the Rangers with 21 points, 12 rebounds, seven steals and three assists. Allison Jones scored 13 with four assists and four steals. Alexis Gray had six points and nine rebounds.
Quilcene (9-4, 4-4) hosts Pope John Paul II at home at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Elma 47, Forks 30
FORKS — Forks got off to a slow start against Elma, rallied a bit in the second half, but it wasn’t enough in a 47-30 loss.
“We got down early in the firt half and couldn’t catch up. It wasn’t from lack of effort,” said coach John DeMatties.
Skyler DeMatties led the Spartans with 14, while Rian Peters scored 13.
Forks (4-10, 2-3) sits at third place in the middle of the Evergreen 1A League, with still a shot at postseason.
“We control our own desitny. It’s up to us tosee what we can do,” said DeMatties.
Forks plays at Neah Bay at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in a nonleague game then returns to league action Friday with a game at Hoquiam at 7 p.m. Friday.

Neah Bay 64, Crescent 9
JOYCE — The Neah Bay girls remained undefeated in North Olympic 1B league action, romping over a flu-ravaged Crescent squad 64-9.
Tristin Johnson scored 20, and Cheyanna Svec and Cei’J Gagnon each scored 13.
Crescent had to cancel a Wednesday game against Chief Kitsap because of illness in the school.
McKenzie Brannon led the Loggers with five points.
Neah Bay (11-3, 5-0) played Chief Kitsap Saturday. They Red Devils next host Forks at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Coupeville 39, Port Townsend 31
COUPEVILLE — Port Townsend fell way behind against undeafeated Coupeville on the road, came roaring back in the second half, but the Redhawks’ comeback fell short in a 39-31 loss.
The girls got behind 12-0 in the first quarter in Friday’s game and were still down 18-6 at the half.
But, coach Scott Wilson said the Redhawks came back to tie it at 24-24 in the third quarter after a clutch 3-pointer by Mackenzie Lake. Coupeville responded, however, outscoring the Redhawks 15-7 down the stretch.
“We felt pretty good about the comeback, but we ran out of gas,” Wilson said.
Jenna Carson and Kaitlyn Meek led the Redhawks with seven points each.
Port Townsend (8-6, 4-3) continues to sit in second place in the Olympic League 1A Division. The Redhawks don’t have another league game until early February. Their next game is at home at 7 p.m. Friday against Bremerton.
