PORT TOWNSEND — Port Townsend quarterback Berkley Hill was named the Olympic-Nisqually 1A League Most Valuable Player.

Hill, who helped lead the Redhawks to a 7-4 record, the Olympic 1A Division title and a State 1A berth, was nominated for the East-West Game.

Hill put up astonishing numbers for the Redhawks, accounting for a total of 35 offensive touchdowns in 11 games. He was 64-121 passing with 817 yards and 13 TDs, and rushed 214 times for 1,554 yards and 22 TDs. He added another 226 yards in kick returns and 85 yards in punt returns for a total of 2,376 all-purpose yards.

For good measure, Hill added six interceptions and three fumble recoveries on defense.

Also making the Olympic-Nisqually 1A All-Star first team were Hill’s Redhawk teammates Jackson Foster on the offensive line and Detrius Kelsall as a running back. Kelsall was part of an effective one-two punch with Hill for the Redhawks as he had 916 rushing yards and 322 receiving yards. Gerry Coker made the first team as a placekicker as he made 43 out of 47 point-after attempts. He was also nominated for the East-West Game.

Making the first-team defense from Port Townsend were defensive lineman Jackson Foster, Kelsall as a linebacker, and Coker as a defensive back.

Redhawk Kaiden Parcher made the second-team all Olympic-Nisqually offensive squad as an offensive lineman. Making the second-team for defense were defensive lineman Jacob Massie, linebacker John Smith and defensive back Noa Apker-Montoya.
