SEQUIM — Sequim and Port Angeles softball were knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten after the Wolves and Roughriders each suffered seventh-inning letdowns against Kitsap County squads Tuesday.
The Wolves (2-1, 6-1) allowed five runs over the final two innings to fall 8-6 to North Kitsap (2-1, 3-1).
Sequim went up 6-2 after the first two innings as Addie Smith, Mia Pozernick and Katelyn Glass all tallied RBI hits for the Wolves.
In the later innings, Sequim couldn’t produce any runs against Vikings pitcher Makenzie Stockman. Stockman struck out nine and walked three in the contest.
Sequim visits North Mason (2-1, 4-2) today.

Olympic 8, Port Angeles 5
PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles couldn’t hold on to an early lead against Olympic and fell 8-5 in a matchup of unbeaten Olympic League softball teams at Dry Creek Elementary School on Tuesday.
“Olympic’s freshman pitcher stymied the Port Angeles bats with her hard fastball and spot-on change up,” coach Randy Steinman said. “Port Angeles had the lead but made too many mistakes to get the extra-inning win.”
Zoe Smithson had a two-run home run for the Roughriders while Natalie Robinson went 3-for-4 with a solo home run.
“Zoe and Natalie each hit no-doubt home runs into the wind,” Steinman said.
Abby Kimball added an RBI triple and Teagan Clark an RBI double.
Port Angeles plays next on Thursday at home against Bainbridge starting at 4:45 p.m. The game was pushed back 30 minutes due to transportation issues.

POULSBO — The Roughriders edged the Olympic League-leading Vikings on North Kitsap’s home turf Tuesday.
“When you can beat North Kitsap and knock them from the ranks of the unbeatens, it’s a good day,” Port Angeles coach Casey Dietz said.
“It was a huge win for us in a really well-pitched ball game. And defensively, we were pretty clean.”
Elijah Flodstrom started the contest on the mound and drove in the eventual winning run at the plate for the Riders in the top of the seventh inning.
Flodstrom went four innings, allowing one run while scattering five hits and a walk with three strikeouts.
“He stayed around the zone, threw strikes and let his defense help him out,” Dietz said.
Flodstrom went 3-for-4 on the day and put the ball in play to drive home Hunter Robinson with the game winner in the seventh after Robinson singled and advanced to third on a Michael Soule bunt and a wide throw to first base.
The Riders tied it up 1-1 in the fourth when Beckett Jarnagin reached on an error and eventually came home on a Cole Johnson single.
Kole Acker was pivotal in relief for Port Angeles.
“He came on for the final three innings and was stellar,” Dietz said. “He allowed one hit over the final three and was in a zone out there, keeping them off balance with a good selection of pitches.”
Sophomore Colton Romero also went 2-for-3 for the Riders at the plate.
Port Angeles (1-3, 2-4) hosts Kingston today and Mount Tahoma on Friday, both at Civic Field at 4:15 p.m.
