CROSS COUNTRY: Port Townsend’s Clarke wins Class 1A state championship

PASCO — Port Townsend senior Ryan Clarke ran to a cross country state championship at Sun Willows Golf Course on Saturday.

Clarke ran the course in 15 minutes, 28.36 seconds, beating his previous personal best by more than 32 seconds.

Clarke, the reigning All-Peninsula Cross Country MVP, placed fifth at last year’s state championships.

More area cross country state championship results will be published in Monday’s edition.
