COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Sequim’s Michael Young, Walker Ward moving on to next level as teammates

Duo will play football at Ottawa University

SEQUIM — Sequim seniors Michael Young and Walker Ward will continue their football careers together as teammates at Ottawa University in Surprise, Ariz., this fall.

The pair also were first-team All-Olympic League North Division selections this season in a five-game Pandemic-shortened schedule.

Young caught 23 passes for 446 yards and six touchdowns in seven games as a junior in 2019.

Ward ran for 1,209 yards and nine touchdowns with six 100-yard games in his junior season.

The pair were part of Sequim’s Olympic League championship squad as sophomores in 2018 and reached the Class 2A state football tournament with the Wolves in 2018 and 2019.
