COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Peninsula men get revenge on Elite Prep

PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula College basketball men shook off the rust from a 16-day Christmas break layoff, getting double figures from five players and a bit of revenge on Elite Prep as they beat the Southern California basketball academy 86-80.

The Peninsula men lost to Elite Prep 68-64 in November. Tuesday’s win was the sixth win out of the Pirates’ last seven games.

Alex Baham led the Pirates with 21 points, hitting four 3-pointers. Trent Warren also hit four 3-pointers, scoring 17 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Kevin Baker shot 9-for-12 from the floor and scored 19 and pulled down seven boards.

Michael Carter, who is headed to the University of San Francisco next year, scored 25 for Elite Prep.

Peninsula (8-3) next plays against Tacoma at 6 p.m. Saturday. The Pirates begin Northwest Athletic Conference North Division play Jan. 11 at Shoreline.
