PORT ANGELES — Two days of men’s basketball are set for the Peninsula College gym this weekend as Peninsula College hosts the second annual First Federal Pirate Classic.
On Saturday, Grays Harbor College takes on Blue Angels at 5 p.m., followed by Peninsula matching up against Northwest Indian College, NWIC, at 7 p.m.
Sunday’s matchups are NWIC facing the Blue Angels at 1 p.m., followed by Grays Harbor playing the Pirates at 3 p.m.
Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for juniors ages 7-17 and seniors 55 and older, and free to youth 6 and younger.
Fans who bring cans of food will be eligible for drawings to be held during the two Pirate games.
“It will be the last time fans can see the Pirates at home before NWAACC conference play gets under way in January,” said Peninsula College athletic director Rick Ross.
“Coach Mitch Freeman has done a great job putting this Classic together and fans will get to see some great college basketball.”
The Pirates are coming off a 77-76 season-opening win over Clark College.
Long-time Pirate athletics supporter First Federal will sponsor a halftime contest in each of the two Pirate games.
First Federal contributed $2,000 to sponsor the tournament.
