PORT ANGELES — It’s reunion time for the Peninsula College women’s basketball program and Neah Bay’s Moss family.
Red Devils senior Ruth Moss has signed a letter of intent to continue playing basketball with the Pirates and head coach Alison Crumb.
Moss becomes the third member of her nine-sibling family to play basketball for Crumb and Peninsula, joining older sisters Cherish and Cierra, who helped lead the Pirates to their first Northwest Athletic Conference Championship in 2015.
“We are extremely excited to officially sign Ruth Moss to her letter of intent to play for Peninsula College women’s basketball,” Crumb said. “Most fans of our program remember when we won the NWAC Championship and two region championships with Cierra and Cherish Moss. Ruth has been a part of our Pirate Family for a while just because we have become very close with the Moss family since having two of the sisters a couple years back.
“We have watched her grow and are extremely proud to have another Moss sister in the program. Ruth can shoot and is an overall scorer, and we hope that she can help us bring another NWAC title here just like her sisters.”
Moss was a crucial component in leading Neah Bay to the Class 1B state basketball tournament every year since she first played on the Red Devils’ varsity as an eighth-grader in 2017.
That includes Neah Bay’s fifth-place finish in 2018 and a school-best third-place finish in 2019.
Moss is the daughter of Robert and Cinnamon Moss.
