COLLEGE BASEBALL: Port Angeles’ Wyatt Hall signs with NCAA Division II Cal State San Bernadino

Hit team-high .324 for Skagit Valley this spring

MOUNT VERNON — Wyatt Hall, a 2021 graduate of Port Angeles High School, finished his Skagit Valley College baseball career with a fantastic season that resulted in multiple scholarship offers from four-year universities.

Hall signed to attend California State University, San Bernardino to continue his education and baseball career. Cal State San Bernardino is currently playing in the NCAA Division II World Series.

After a tough freshman campaign in which his season ended early due to an injury that required surgery, the Cardinals shortstop led his team in multiple offensive categories in 2023.

The former Roughrider and member of the Wilder Baseball Club was tops in batting average (.324), hits (58), runs scored (41), stolen bases (14), and he was tied for the team lead in home runs.

Hall was also named to the All-Region Northwest Athletic Conference second team and graduated from Skagit Valley with a 3.76 GPA.

Hall started as a sophomore for the Riders in 2019. His high school career was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, which completely wiped out his junior year and resulted in a severely shortened senior season. He shined in the summers of 2021 and 2022 for the Wilder Club, putting up huge numbers for the American Legion team.

Summer in the WCL

Hall will be playing for the Bellingham Bells in the West Coast League this summer, playing for state Hall of Fame coach Jim Clem, a former pitcher for the Peninsula College Pirates who also assisted the high school team during Hall’s time as a Rider.

Hall’s college schedule may dictate whether or not he’ll be able return to Port Angeles as a member of the Bells since the team doesn’t play a road series at Civic Field until Aug. 4-6.

Cal State San Bernardino, known as the Yotes, is a popular school for the Port Angeles Lefties. Three Yotes, outfielder Derek Bogh, pitcher Andres Quinones and shortstop Riley Parker, played for the Lefties last year.
