BOYS SWIMMING: Port Angeles add to state, district qualifications at last-chance meet

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles swimmers qualified for state in two more events and in district in another, while Crescent’s Micah Scott qualified for state in the 1-meter diving at the Divisional Invitational.

The invitational represents swimmers and divers’ last opportunity to post qualifying times for district or state.

Cameron Butler qualified for state in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1 minutes, 52.95 seconds and in the 100 freestyle with a time of 50.73.

Josh Gavin qualified for district in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:03.42.

Scott qualified for state with 316.30 points.

The Roughriders have 10 individuals and all three relays teams qualified for district. Their 10 qualifying swimmers have accumulated 39 individual district events and seven individual state events to choose from.

Those qualified for Districts and the number of individual events are:

Butler, eight district events and six state events; Gavin, seven district events; Alex Hertzog, four district events; Josh Krzysiak, four district events; Taylor Martin, five district events and one state event; Henry Shaw, five events; Adam Weller, four events; Andrew Methner, district 1-meter diving; Max Larsen, district 1-meter diving; Adam Boyd, one district event.

Crescent’s Scott has qualified for both district and state in the 1-meter diving.

The district championships will be held at Hazen High School in Renton on Feb. 8 and 9.
