BREMERTON — Bremerton’s Jalen Davis scored 31 points as the Knights pulled away in the third quarter for an 89-64 win over the Sequim boys basketball team.
Sequim managed to hang close at 39-28 at the half, but Bremerton, ranked No. 6 in Ratings Percentage Index, scored 28 points in the third quarter to open up a 21-point lead at 67-46 lead going into the fourth.
The Wolves were led by Solomon Sheppard and Keenan Green, who each scored 17 points. Charlie Grider added 11 points.
The game was the opener of three very tough contests for the Wolves.
Sequim will play at No. 7-ranked North Kitsap (8-0, 11-3) on Tuesday.

Neah Bay 83, Crescent 23
NEAH BAY — Two red-hot teams met Friday night at Crescent High School, with Neah Bay prevailing 83-23, snapping Crescent’s remarkable 13-game winning streak.
It’s was Crescent’s (13-2) first loss since Nov. 27 — 53 days ago — which was to 2B Forks.
“Red Devils shot the lights out,” said Crescent coach Chris Ferrier. “We couldn’t throw the ball in the ocean from a rowboat, and that was that. Now we pick up and move on and see how we respond to some adversity.”
After a slow start to their season, it was the fifth straight win for the 7-3 Red Devils, who are ranked No. 5 in RPI among 1B schools. Crescent is ranked No. 11.
Mikah Love led the Loggers with nine points. Tyler Swan had one of his best games for Neah Bay, scoring 20 points to go with eight rebounds. Jodell Wimberley scored 15, while LeAnthony Jimmicum and Makyah Chambers each scored 12.
Neah Bay played Coupeville on Saturday and next plays at Forks (8-6) at 7:15 p.m. Monday.
Crescent hosts Clallam Bay (9-2) at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
