SEQUIM — The Sequim boys basketball team took care of business in a 77-47 take down of North Kitsap at home Friday to set up a clash with Bremerton on Monday for a share of the Olympic League championship.
That contest will be played at 5:15 p.m. at Rick Kaps Gymnaisium in Sequim.
Bremerton (12-1, 14-4) earned a share of the title Friday night when the Knights beat Port Angeles 67-39, but a Wolves (11-2, 16-2) win Monday would split the two-game series between the teams.
Seniors led the way in Friday’s win.
Ethan Melnick led all scorers with 25 points, sinking five second-half treys.
“Ethan Melnick and Zeke Schamdeke played great,” coach Craig Brooks said.
Jericho Julmist added 17 for Sequim, Solomon Sheppard 12 and Jamison Gray had 10 to pace the Wolves.

PORT TOWNSEND — The Rivals were led by Julius Mercado’s 26 points in a senior night loss to the Eagles.
“It was an awesome environment for senior night and we were super excited to celebrate John Mercado, our only senior,” Rivals coach Adam Washburn said.
“Two teams that were really evenly matched. Unfortunately, we didn’t handle the details as well as we would’ve liked. But I thought we played hard for most every possession.
East Jefferson (1-4, 5-12) is still alive for a playoff berth to the Class 1A District 3 Tournament.
The Rivals face Klahowya (1-6, 3-17) on Monday.

JOYCE — The Loggers prepped for the postseason with a solid win over the youngest Roughriders.
“Levi and Henry Bourm both had strong games, and John Lium had a monster game on the glass grabbing 11 rebounds to go with his 8 points,” coach Chris Ferrier said.
“We moved the ball around and got balanced scoring, I’d take six guys above seven points every time out. The guys really played well, top to bottom, and it was a good experience for not just the starters, but the subs were able to get a lot of playing time too.
We were able to work on a few things and get a game in in the long break between the end of the regular season and the playoffs. I’m thankful for the Port Angeles program for giving us the game.
Crescent (11-8) will face a to-be-determined opponent in a Feb. 15 Class 1B Tri-District game.
