ATHLETES OF THE WEEK, Quilcene’s Andy Johnston, Crescent’s Noah Leonard

This week we have two athletes of the week, both from eight-man football.

Andy Johnston, Quilcene

Quilcene’s Andy Johnston had an incredible game for the Rangers in their 66-26 dismantling of Tacoma Baptist.

Johnston had three touchdown passes of 25, 37 and 47 yards, an intereception and 34-yard runback, an onside kick recovery, eight solo tackles and four kick returns for 178 total yards.

Johnston is one of the big reasons the Rangers are 5-0 and ranked No. 3 in the state.

Noah Leonard, Crescent

Meanwhile, Crescent’s Noah Leonard is having an amazing season so far.

The Loggers running back already has 1,114 yards rushing with an average of 13.6 yards per rush and 17 rushing TDs.

Leonard also has 1,592 all-purpose yardage, which includes 183 receiving yards, and has scored a total of 19 TDs. All of these stats are in just six games.

Leonard and Johnston are two big studs at small schools playing 8-man football.
