ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: Lukas Love, Crescent football, and Nate Dahlgren, Forks football

Our Athletes of the Week both had monster games that helped their teams to crucial victories this week.

First, Nate Dahlgren had 238 yards rushing on 27 carries and scored all three of Forks’ touchdowns in a 21-18 win over Pe Ell-Willapa Valley to keep the No. 4-ranked Spartans in second place in the highly competitive Pacific 2B League. One of his touchdowns came on a 60-yard run and he had another 35-yard run that set up a short touchdown run.

Dahlgren was also a force on a defense that held the Titans without a score on eight straight plays in the red zone late in the fourth quarter.

Lukas Love had one of his best games of the year for the Crescent Loggers, who improved to 4-4 on the season with a 34-6 upset over Concrete on Saturday to keep the Loggers’ playoff hopes alive. Love scored touchdowns on catches of 18 and 30 yards and also on a 56-yard reverse. He also scored a pair of two-point conversions. Love finished with five catches for 100 yards.
