Our Athletes of the Week for this week are Quilcene’s Bishop Budnek and Port Angeles’ Mackenzie DuBois.
Budnek rushed for 421 yards on just 22 carries and had four touchdown runs against Rainier Christian in the Rangers’ 56-26 win.
Already this season in just four games, Budnek has rushed for 1,090 yards on just 62 carries for an average gain of 17.6 yards per rush and has scored 15 touchdowns.
DuBois has been a huge addition as a freshman on the Roughriders girls’ swim team, helping lead Port Angeles to a 4-1 start on the year.
In just five meets, DuBois in leading the team by already racking up 14 first-place finishes — seven in individual events and seven as a member of a relay team.
Look for Budnek and DuBois to continue making a lot of noise — and waves — this fall prep season.
