ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Port Townsend’s Hill leads Redhawks back to state

Port Townsend quarterback/defensive back Berkley Hill continued his outstanding senior season in his team’s most important game thus far, a 49-7 victory over Charles Wright last Friday at Memorial Field. Hill rushed 19 times for 200 yards, his third 200-plus rushing outburst of the season, as the Redhawks clinched the team’s second-consecutive Class 1A state tournament appearance.

Hill completed 1o of 14 passes for 103 yards and a touchdown and also recovered a fumbled punt return for another score.

Hill has rushed for 1,511 yards and 22 TDs on 201 carries this season and thrown for another 758 yards and 12 touchdowns, for 2,269 total yards from scrimmage and 34 TDs.

The son of Rachel and Rich Hill of Port Townsend, he is a three-sport athlete for Port Townsend, also playing basketball and baseball.
