ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Port Angeles soccer player Emilia Long

Emilia Long, just a freshman, is already a big part of the Port Angeles Roughriders girls’ soccer team. She scored two goals against Port Townsend on Sept. 13 in a 6-0 win then against Kingston, she tallied two more goals for the girls’ first Olympic League 2A victory. In just four games in her varsity career under her belt, she already has scored four goals.

Long, a veteran of the an elite youth basketball team the Olympic Avalanche Black squad, is also an excellent hoops player and the Roughriders will be looking forward to her joining their basketball team this winter.

Long is part of an athletic family as her older brother and sister, Gabe and Gracie, are also outstanding track and cross country athletes.
