The Roughriders’ Nadia Cole is off to a fast start this season, taking up where she left off last season, when she broke a 20-year-old Port Angeles High School record for fastest time in the 200-yard individual medley.

In the Riders’ meet last week against Sequim, Cole qualified for the 2A state meet in the 50 freestyle and the 500 freestyle and helped the Port Angeles 400 freestyle relay team (Kiara Schmitt, Maggie Martin Felicia Che and Cole) qualify for state. Cole came in first in the 500 free and the 400 free relay was first.

Cole was also a part of the winning 200 medley relay team with Schmitt, Che and Emma Murray.

Cole has won a total of eight events so far this season individually and as part of relay teams in three meets. She has already qualified for state in six total events.
