ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Kalli Wiker, Sequim girls basketball

Kalli Wiker

Kalli Wiker made Sequim school history this past week.

Wiker drilled eight 3-pointers against North Mason on Thursday night, tying the Sequim school record for most 3-pointers in a game set by Art Green in the early 1990s.

Wiker might’ve broken Green’s record, but she was pulled early in the Wolves’ 81-40 win as coach Linsay Rapelje wasn’t aware of the record. Wiker finished the game with 26 points.

Wiker has been a big part of the Wolves’ renaissance in girls’ basketball the past two seasons. She has helped lead Sequim to a 5-0 record this year and first place in the Olympic League 2A Division — with the Wolves winning by an average margin of 35 points a game.
