Jayla Julmist, Sequim girls basketball

Sequim’s Jayla Julmist is a new face on the varsity sports scene and she made a splash on the hardcourt right off the bat, with a fantastic game in the Wolves’ opener last week.

Julmist, just a sophomore, led the team with 17 points and an astounding 20 rebounds as Sequim upset 3A Bainbridge on the road 77-68. That’s a serious double-double put up against a 3A power.

Julmist, a 6-0 post player for the Wolves, was also an important player for Sequim’s volleyball team this past fall, leading the team in blocks. It looks like the Wolves have a new inside force for the rest of the Olympic League 2A Division to deal with for the next three years.
