ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Dylan Tracer, Port Townsend football

Dylan Tracer

Dylan Tracer

Dylan Tracer had the game of his life for the Redhawks football team Friday night, leading Port Townsend to a 49-16 romp over cross-strait rival Coupeville.

Tracer scored four touchdowns — two through the air and two on the ground — as he tallied 220 total yards from scrimmage. He had 182 yards rushing on 15 carries and 38 yards receiving on four catches.

On top of all that, he even forced a safety while playing defense, sacking Coupeville’s quarterback in the end zone for a score.

Tracer is a year-round, well-rounded athlete. He finished third in the state last year in wrestling and was a district track and field champion in the 110- and 300-meter hurdles.

Expect to see his name in the sports section all year.
