Forks basketball team’s Braton Armas saves his best for last

Braton Armas has been both incredibly clutch and consistent all season for the Forks Spartans basketball team, saving his best work for the fourth quarter.

Armas, a post player for the Spartans, had eight points in the fourth quarter to help Forks win its playoff game 77-67 against Stevenson on Thursday.

That’s just part of a pattern for Armas all month as he’s been a big part of the Evergreen 1A champion Spartans’ (7-1, 17-4) success this season.

Look at this consistency. Against Hoquiam on Feb. 1, Armas had 14 points and 11 boards in a 64-55 win that gave the Spartans the league championship.

On Jan. 18, Armas scored 12 out of his 14 points in the fourth quarter to help the Spartans beat Tenino. And best of all, Armas hit the game-winner at the final buzzer to beat Hoquiam 62-60 on Jan. 16, contributing 16 total points in that win.
