AREA SPORTS: PA’s Anna Petty scores four goals for Peninsula College women in rout of Everett

PA’s Petty tallies four goals in PC women’s 10-0 win

EVERETT — Port Angeles product Anna Petty notched four first-half goals as the Peninsula College women walloped Everett 10-0 on the road Wednesday.

Petty got going early with a second-minute score assisted by Taya Bohenko. Bohenko had three assists in the first half for the Pirates.

Sydney Soskis scored twice, in the 4th and 56th minutes as Peninsula (5-0-2, 10-0-2), remained in second place behind Skagit Valley (6-0-1, 7-0-2) in the NWAC North Division race.

Other goal scorers for the Pirates included Caneel Corpuz (Desiree Dutra); Keilee Silva; Elliana Barden (Dutra) and Marley Hamlett.

Pirate men draw

Nil Grau’s 56th minute score salvaged a draw against the first-place Trojans (3-0-4, 8-0-4) for the Peninsula men. The Pirates (4-2-1, 7-3-1) were hoping for payback against Everett after a 3-2 loss back on Sept. 6.

Peninsula will need some help from other league opponents in the remaining five regular season games to catch the Trojans for the North crown.

The Pirates will host a Breast Cancer Awareness doubleheader against Whatcom at Wally Sigmar Field on Saturday. The women kick off at noon, the men follow at 2:15 p.m.
