Linda Hash wins Super Senior title on home course
SEQUIM — Linda Hash used some local knowledge to earn the 11th Super Senior Women’s Amateur Championship at her home course, The Cedars at Dungeness this week.
The Sequim course hosted both the 25th Washington Senior Women’s Amateur and the 11th Super Senior Women’s Amateur Championships, both 36-hole stroke play events.
A member of The Cedars at Dungeness Women’s Golf Group, Hash shot rounds of 77-78 to finish at 11-over-par 155 and win by three strokes over Tacoma’s LoriAnne Johns.
Hash began the day two shots clear of second-place challenger Soon Kim from Bellevue. Hash got off to a rocky start in her final round with three straight bogeys, but she steadied the ship and carded just four more bogeys across the rest of the round, against one birdie.
Bellevue’s Kim Shek shot rounds of 73-74 to win the Senior Women’s Amateur for the second year in a row.
Yoomee Mun from Tacoma won the Senior Women’s Net title with a 9-under-par finish after net rounds of 71-64.
Barbara Todd from Seattle captured the Super Senior Women’s Net title, finishing at 10-under-par for the championship after net rounds of 67-67.
Jones wins 4th straight
SEQUIM — Jeff Jones retained The Cedars at Dungeness Men’s Club Championship for the fourth consecutive year, earning his fifth-overall Gross title with a two day total of 3-under-par 141.
Rick Towery claimed the Net championship with a score of 134 strokes, highlighted by his career-best gross round of 71 (59 net).
Sprint boat tickets
PORT ANGELES — Tickets and reserved camping spots for the upcoming sprint boat races Sept. 7-8 at Extreme Sports Park are available online at https://tickets.extremesportspark.net.
Two-day ticket prices (fees included) range from $33.50 for kids ages 6-17, $53.50 for military/seniors and $63.50 for adults.
Single-day admission is $23.50 for kids, $33.53 for military/seniors and $43.50 for adults.
The races are free for kids age 5 and under.
Pit passes are available at the event only for an additional $5.
Camping fees are $38.50 per night and will open at noon Sept. 5.

Brehm’s third ace
SEQUIM — Sequim’s Karl Brehm recorded his third-ever hole-in-one while playing at The Cedars at Dungeness Golf Course on July 31.
Brehm, a member at the course, aced the 143-yard par-3 11th hole, using his 6-iron and a BIGG Crusher golf ball.
His shot was witnessed by Keith Beck, Craig Turrentine and Ron Zimmerman.
