SEQUIM — The Dream Playground Fundraiser Golf Tournament at The Cedars at Dungeness Golf Course raised about $15,000 for the effort to rebuild the Port Angeles children’s playground lost in a fire in December.
The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe and 7 Cedars Resort donated all proceeds from the tournament to the Dream Playground fund and also contributed a $5,000 donation to support reconstruction efforts.
There was a tie at the top of the best ball scramble format event as Alex Atwell, Danny Romero, Brandon Rux and Tim Lusk fired a 15-under-par 57 and tied with Bob Nordberg, Pat Ryder, Landon Cray and Richard Kiesel.
Chad Wagner, Zac Moore, Devin Scott and Scott Kiele tied for third at 58 along with the foursome of Ryan Oase, Steve Wilson, Rick Smith and Eric Hegge and Joe Luce, Sam Luce, Mark Mitrovich and Sid Krumpe.

Doughnut fundraiser
PORT HADLOCK — East Jefferson Little League baseball and softball players will host a Krispy Kreme Doughnuts fundraiser to support league activities.
Boxes of original glazed doughnuts are $15 per dozen and orders are due by March 13.
Pickup will occur at the East Jefferson Little League jamboree on March 23, and players will deliver doughnut boxes to buyers.

Learn-to-sail course
SEQUIM — Potential sailors 18 and older can learn the basics of navigating a small sailboat in protected waters with the Sequim Bay Yacht Club’s spring Learn-to-sail course.
Classroom sessions are set for 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays on March 5, 12, 19 and 26 and April 2.
On-water sessions will follow, scheduled depending on the weather.
The cost is $500 for non-members with a discount for current yacht club members.

St. Patrick’s Day run
PORT ANGELES — The fifth annual Great Olympic Peninsula St. Patrick’s Day Run/Walk will be held March 16.
The event includes a 10-kilometer run/walk, a 5K and a 1-mile run/walk.
All events begin at Port Angeles City Pier at 10 a.m. and are out-and-backs along the Olympic Discovery Trail.
Each participant will receive a long-sleeve 2024 Red, Set, Go shirt, a race bib, finisher medal and a goodie bag.
All proceeds benefit Olympic Medical Heart Center.
The fee is $35 per person. OMC employees receive $5 off registration.

Softball clinic Sunday
SEQUIM — Sequim Little League’s softball clinic planned for Feb. 25 has been moved to Sunday.
The clinic, for girls of all skill levels ages 7 through 12, will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Carrie Blake Park softball field.
Players should dress in comfortable clothes and bring a glove, cleats, water bottle and “game spirit.”
Pitching, throwing and fielding skills will be taught.
There’s no advance registration, players should just show up.
