King limit upped to 2 chinook off Neah Bay, La Push
NEAH BAY — The daily chinook limit has been changed to two off Neah Bay (Marine Area 4) and La Push (Marine Area 3).
Beginning today, anglers can keep a daily limit of two salmon, the state Department of Fish and Wildlife announced.
The minimum size for chinook is 24 inches.
The minimum size for coho is 16 inches and all wild coho must be released.
All other salmon species have no minimum size.
The regulations apply to the waters west (4A) and east (4B) of the Bonilla-Tatoosh Line.
These regulations will be in place through July 31.
Campfire restriction
PORT ANGELES — Due to the combination of increased dry conditions and rising temperatures, the Olympic National Forest and Olympic National Park are implementing fire restrictions that will only allow campfires in established fire rings in designated areas.
Restrictions will be effective Sunday.
All backcountry and dispersed area campfires will not be allowed, including the use of charcoal grills or other equipment that creates ash.
Gas or propane camp stoves with a shut-off valve or lever that extinguishes the flame immediately are permitted in these areas but should be operated well away from flammable vegetation and forest litter. Extreme caution is urged with any open flame.
Campfires on the beaches of Olympic National Park will not be permitted under this restriction.

Forks youth football
FORKS — The West End Youth Football League has set registration events at Ducan Field from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 10, 17 and 24.
Registration is $85 per athlete. The fee does not cover the cost of a player’s jersey.
Parents/guardians should bring a copy of each child’s birth certificate to registration.
The league will offer flag football for ages 4 through6, C team for grades one through three; B team for fourth and fifth graders and A team for sixth and seventh graders.

McLinn’s 5th single
SEQUIM — Sequim’s Jerry McLinn recorded his fifth career hole-in-one June 16 while playing The Cedars at Dungeness.
McLinn aced the 11th hole from 140-yards out using his 7-iron and a Callaway golf ball.
Witnesses were Allen Balla, Ray Ballantyne and Mike Buckland, all of Sequim.
JeffCo hoops camp
PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson County Parks and Recreation will hold its annual summer basketball camp for kids ages 6 through 13 from July 31 through Aug. 3.
The camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the Blue Heron Middle School gym, 3939 San Juan Ave.
This camp helps to prepare players for game play through drills that improve technique in dribbling, shooting, passing and other fundamentals.
All skill levels are welcome.
The cost is $75 per player.
Players should bring their own snack and water bottle and wear non-marking shoes.
The deadline to sign up is July 22.
