Wrestling camp starts Wednesday in Port Angeles

PA wrestling camp starts Wednesday

PORT ANGELES — The 2024 Gene Mills Pin 2 Win Wrestling Camp will be hosted by Port Angeles wrestling from Wednesday through Friday.

The camp will be at Stevens Middle School, 1139 W. 14th St., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a lunch break from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

This camp is open to wrestlers in grades six and up or those with two or more years of wrestling experience.

Cedars Women

SEQUIM — The Cedars at Dungeness Women’s Golf Association played a game of S&T’s during their weekly group play Tuesday.

This game can be played in threesomes or foursomes, each player plays their regular golf game and counts all holes that begin with S and T.

In Flight 1, Marine Hirschfeld took top honors, followed by Yoon Park and Linda Hash.

Hash recorded the low putt total (30), including birdieing holes No. 8 and No. 9. Hirschfeld also recorded a birdie on No. 8 and chipped in on No. 10.

Yoon Park and Jane Peoples tied with 33 putts.

Mimi Shin swept the closest-to-the-pin contest in Flight 1, knocking her tee shot on No. 4 within 12-feet, 8-inches and within 19-6 on No. 11.

Flight 2 results

Lynnette Sheriff was the best in Flight 2, ahead of Kathy Langston and Trish Olson.

Sheriff notched the low putt total with 30, with Kathy Langston second with 33. Langston recorded chip-ins on No. 2 and No. 14.

Olson earned the KP on No. 4 (77-9) and Carin Bunney was closest on No. 11 (37-3).

The Cedars Women play each Tuesday morning.
