SEQUIM — The Cedars at Dungeness Men’s Club member Robert Beaudette recorded his first hole-in-one while playing the course on April 3.

Beaudette aced the par-3 11th hole while playing from the Copper tees, 130 yards from the hole, using his 7-iron and a Callaway golf ball.

The shot was witnessed by Beaudette’s playing partners Steve Wallner and Brian James.

Cedars’ ladies

SEQUIM — Eight members of the The Cedars at Dungeness Women’s Golf Club weekly play encountered rough spring weather on Tuesday.

Playing in the wind and rain, the group made it through the front nine fine but was not so lucky on the back nine as seven players successfully finished the game of S & T, using all the holes starting with S or T to arrive at a score.

Lisa Chon beat out the field for the top spot in the First Flight, with Linda Hash and Jodi Stone tied for second. Hash was the closest to the pin on the fourth and the 11th holes, coming within 29 feet, 11 inches of the cup on No. 4 and 12-4 on No. 11.

Stone finished with fewest total putts (33), edging Kathleen McCarthy (34) and Marine Hirschfeld and Hash (35).

Hirschfeld birdied the fourth hole; Hash made birdie on the 17th hole.

Anglers’ meeting

SEQUIM — Fish Northwest’s Brett Rosson will discuss the conservation efforts of the organization at Wednesday’s meeting of the North Olympic chapter of Puget Sound Anglers.

The meeting will be at the Sequim Elks Lodge, 143 Port Williams Road, with doors at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting starting at 7 p.m.

Fish Northwest is dedicated to the conservation of wild Puget Sound salmon and the restoration of fair, sustainable fishing opportunities for Washington’s anglers, families and fishing-dependent businesses.

The group believes the future of recreational fishing hinges on two key priorities: recovering wild salmon populations and producing hatchery fish through science-based management.

Rosson is a retired Navy veteran and former airline pilot who now runs Highliner Charters out of Anacortes alongside his wife. He has more than 20 years of guiding experience and a lifetime of fishing.

Following the presentation, the Anglers will hold a short business meeting, fishing reports and then raffle drawings.

Raffles are for members only. Join that night to participate in the raffle. An annual individual membership is $25, and a family membership is $35. Membership also includes The Reel News monthly newspaper.
