BMX track ribbon-cutting

PORT ANGELES — Last weekend’s rainy weather has delayed the debut of the renovated Lincoln Park BMX Track.

A grand opening ribbon cutting will be held Sunday at 11 a.m.

Racing registration will follow from noon to 1 p.m. with racing following as soon as possible.

Fees are $10 per rider and all riders need to wear a helmet, long sleeves, long pants and closed-toed shoes.

All bikes must have kickstands and pegs removed.

Beckett Jarnagin started on the mound for Westport and went three perfect innings, allowing no hits and no walks while striking out three to earn the win.

A four-run sixth inning saw Noard, Ty Bradow and Landon Seibel all drive in runs for Westport.

Matt Magano, Kaleb Ripley, Mason Nickovich and Kole Acker all had RBIs for Local.

Jiu-Jitsu block party

PORT HADLOCK — North Sound Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu West will hold a Block Party Booster fundraiser from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 12 at the mixed martial arts school, 865 Ness’ Corner Road.

A “Roll-a-Thon” is planned in which students spar each other for one minute while accepting donations. School logo apparel will be offered for sale and donations will be accepted for a hot dog and drink lunch and a car wash.

Attendees also can get their picture taken with “Super Dave,” the school’s official stock-car mascot, a rebuilt 1972 Chevrolet El Camino named after the car’s original owner, David Wright, who died in 2017.

The school also offers scholarships for veterans with PTSD and free self-defense classes for women.
