AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Wilder/Aggies alumni game set for June 17

Wilder/Aggies alumni game next Saturday

PORT ANGELES — Wilder Baseball Club has updated the date and time of its annual Aggies-Wilder alumni vs. Wilder Senior baseball game.

The nine-inning game will be held at Civic Field at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 17.

Batting practice begins at 4:30 p.m.

Admission is free, with donations accepted at the door.

Wilder apparel will be for sale.

Former players Eric Lane, Danny Romero, Augie Konopaski, Brady Konopaski, Michael Konopaski, Chad and Jeremy Copeland, J.R. Flores, Mike Mudd and Scott Napiontek are expected to play for the alumni team, according to Wilder Baseball Club general manager Mike Politika.

Politika said he is working to get some committments from other alumni players for the contest.

Wilder Senior will host a pair of doubleheaders this weekend.

The 18U team will face Lakeside Recovery of Bellevue at Civic Field at 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday and again at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

Physicals, car wash

SEQUIM — Prep athletes can get a jump on the fall rush and take care of their sports physical examination requirement at a combination clinic/car wash benefit for the Sequim High School boys varsity soccer team on Saturday.

The event will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sports physicals will be conducted by Dr. Carl Weber and Dr. Kip Tulin and the fee is $20 per physical.

The car wash is by donation.
