Gold Cup BMX

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles Parks and Recreation and the Lincoln Park BMX Association in conjunction with USA BMX will host the 2022 DK Northwest Gold Cup Finals Friday through Sunday.

The competition will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday and include participants of all ages. Both event parking and spectator entry is free. Food will be available at the site.

The three-day competition is expected to bring 1,500 riders to the track and up to 5,000 visitors to the Port Angeles area.

The success of other local events, including the Big Hurt, Northwest Cup, North Olympic Discovery Marathon and Ride the Hurricane, and that of the Lincoln Park BMX Association, has paved the way for this event to be held locally, according to organizers.

“Currently, the BMX Track is rated No. 1 of 11 in Washington State, No. 4 of 116 in the western region, and No. 8 of 305 in North America,” says Lincoln Park BMX Track Operator Sean Coleman.

For more information, including event schedule and registration, people can go online at www.tinyurl.com/ BMXGoldCup2022. Cost is $35.
