Youth hoops tryouts slated for Sequim

SEQUIM — Tryouts for Sequim Youth Basketball (SYB) girls select travel teams are set for Sunday and Oct. 27 in the Sequim Middle School gymnasium, 301 W. Hendrickson Road.

Tryouts for fifth- and sixth-graders are noon to 2 p.m., and seventh- and eight-grade players run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

A second set of tryouts for SYB’s select travel boys teams is set for Sunday at the Sequim High School gymnasium, 601 N. Sequim Ave.

Tryouts for fifth-and sixth-grade players are from 4 to 6 p.m. while tryouts for seventh- and eight-grade players are from 6 to 8 p.m.

SHS bowling meeting

SEQUIM — The Sequim High School girls bowling team’s preseason meeting is after school Monday, in room H-118 on the school campus, 601 N. Sequim Ave. No experience is needed. The first practice is Nov. 5.

Fall golf scramble

SEQUIM — SkyRidge Golf Course will host a two-person Fall Scramble Tournament Saturday with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.

The 18-hole event costs $60 per two-person team.

A $30 honey pot also will be available.

There will be gross and net division winners.

Entry includes green fees, range balls, KPs, a team LP and lunch after play.

Carts are $13 per seat.
