AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: State football schedule information; Volleyball tryouts Sunday in PA; Green and White Day on Nov. 24

State football info

RENTON — Quilcene, Neah Bay and Crescent all learned Sunday who they are playing in the state 1B football playoffs.

Now they know when and where those games will held.

All three games will be played Saturday afternoon and all three will be held in eastern Washington.

Quilcene (10-0), seeded No. 5 in the playoffs, will travel to Grandview High School to play No. 4 seed Sunnyside Christian (10-1) at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Neah Bay and Crescent will play at the same venue in Moses Lake.

No. 8-seed Neah Bay (5-5) will play top seed Odessa (11-0) at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lions Field.

After that game, Crescent, seeded No. 7, will take on No. 2 Almira/Coulee/Hartline (10-1) at 2 p.m.

The other state playoff game will feature No. 3 Naselle (8-1) versus No. 6 Lyle/Wishram (8-2) at Woodland High School, also on Saturday.

16U volleyball tryout

PORT ANGELES — Washington Elite Volleyball Club (Port Angeles) will hold tryouts for 16U players at Roosevelt Elementary School, 106 Monroe Road, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The tryout fee is $20. If would like more information, please contact Darlene Armstrong by emailing peforall@yahoo.com.

If interested in trying out, you must register your athlete with the Puget Sound Region at PSRVB.org and complete the tryout page on wevbc.com.

There is a one-time $5 fee that will be processed through USA Volleyball.

Send a confirmation email to peforall@yahoo.com once registered and include a copy of your athletes USA Volleyball membership card showing their tryout membership.

Green and White Day

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Boys Basketball Program will kick off the 2018-19 season with Green and White Day at the Port Angeles High School Gym from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24.

Fans can get a first look at boys basketball teams from fourth grade through the Roughriders’ varsity at this free event.

Each team will get a 5-minute warmup period and play a 10-minute quarter with the fourth-graders starting at 4 p.m. continuing up through the JV at 6:20 p.m. and the varsity at 6:45 p.m.

Contests and games are planned for attendees and organizers will hand out Roughriders gear.

Spectators are asked to wear their green and white colors.
