AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Spartans scrimmage/dinner tonight in Forks

Spaghetti and hoops with the Forks Spartans

FORKS — The annual Forks High School Blue & Gold Spartan basketball scrimmage will occur today at the Spartan gym and commons, 261 Spartan Ave.

The event will begin with a $10 spaghetti feed with salad and garlic bread at 5:30 p.m.

The games will then follow, with the girls’ game at 6 p.m. and boys’ at 7 p.m.

Reindeer Run/Walk

PORT ANGELES – The 17th Annual City of Port Angeles Parks & Recreation Department Reindeer Run/Walk 5K is Saturday, December 16 at 1 p.m. at City Pier.

Cost is $25 per person, or $15 for ages 18 and younger.

Sign up at the Port Angeles Parks and Recreation Office, 308 E. 4th St., or at City Pier on the day of the race.

Register by Dec. 8 to guarantee a T-shirt.

Runners/walkers should check in by 12:45 p.m. The run starts promptly at 1 p.m.

Medals are awarded for first through third places in each age division and prizes will be awarded for best costumes.

This event is stroller and leashed pet friendly.

Roller Derby bout

SEQUIM — Port Scandalous Roller Derby hosts its final bout of the group’s seventh season when they take on the Rodeo City Rollergirls at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St.

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for military, senior citizens and youths of ages 7-12, and free for youths 6 and younger.

The event features a beer garden (21+) and an after-party.
