AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Signups continue for Port Angeles Wrestling Club

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Wrestling Club is taking signups at 5:30 p.m. today for boys and girls from kindergarten through the eighth grade.

There will be a parents’ meeting at 6:30 p.m. The club’s new location is at 259493 U.S. Highway 101 in Sequim just west of Kitchen-Dick Road.

Practices start on Monday at 6:30 p.m. and will be held from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. The season will run until Feb. 20.

The cost is $80 per wrestler, who will receive a PAWC T-shirt and a USA Wrestling card.

There is also an additional advanced/competitive group for more experienced wrestlers. The fee is $130 for this group, which has an extra practice from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

There are discounts available for families with three or more participants, and scholarships are also available for people in need.

The club follows COVID-19 guidelines. Kids are asked to bring their own masks. There is no water fountain at the new site, so kids need to bring their own water.

People with questions should contact Rob Gale at rgale@ portangelesschools.org or 360-460-1284.
