AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Sequim youth football camp; volleyball camp in PA; PAHS girls hoops camp

Youth football camp starting next week

SEQUIM — A Wolves Youth Football Camp will be held at the Sequim High School practice field on West Fir Street from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

The camp is open to boys and girls in grades kindergarten-8. Cost is $45. Participants receive a junior-sized football, snack, drink and ice cream.

Sequim High School coaches and players will instruct the camp.

Volleyball camp

PORT ANGELES — A volleyball camp for girls entering kindergarten through ninth grade and boys in kindergarten through fifth grade will be held at the Port Angeles High School gym Monday through Thursday, June 25-28.

Sixth through ninth graders will attend from 9 a.m. to noon, while boys and girls entering kindergarten through fifth graders will go from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

All skill levels are welcome. The camp focuses on the fundamentals of the game as well as teaching the movements through fun games and activities.

Different levels of competition are introduced as the camp continues through the week based on levels of experience and growth.

The cost is $50, which includes a camp T-shirt if registration is received by June 11.

Camp coaches include Port Angeles volleyball coach Christine Halberg and her high school and middle school coaches as well as returning Roughrider players.

Youth hoops clinic

PORT ANGELES — A girls basketball youth clinic for players going into sixth through ninth grade will be offered by the Port Angeles High School girls basketball program Wednesday and Thursday, June 20-21.

The clinic will be held at the Port Angeles High School gym from 9 a.m. to noon each day.

Roughrider coaches and players will lead the clinic.

The cost is $45 and is payable at the door June 20.
