Sequim hoops plans tourney, dinner/auction

SEQUIM — Sequim boys basketball will hold a golf tournament and dinner and auction events on Nov. 16.

A four-person scramble nine-hole tournament is planned for The Cedars at Dungeness with a noon shotgun start.

The cost is $60 for the public, $40 for members/employees and includes green fees, cart use, range balls, KPs, other prizes and a drink ticket.

A “Meet the Team” dinner and silent and live auction fundraiser will introduce the 2024-25 Sequim basketball team.

The dinner is set for the Legends Room at the golf course at 6 p.m.

Attendees can choose from a chicken piccata, wild rice, garden salad, tiramisu/zesty lemon cake meal or flank steak, mashed potatoes, garden salad and dessert.

Select team tryouts

SEQUIM — Sequim Youth Basketball will hold tryouts for its fifth- through eighth-grade select boys basketball teams Monday and Oct. 11.

The tryouts will be held at Sequim Middle School gym, 301 W. Hendrickson Road.

Fifth -and sixth-graders will try out from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and seventh- and eighth-graders will go from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
