Forks’ Luke Dahlgren will be on hand for a youth football camp in Forks put on July 5 by Seattle Seahawks coach Neiko Thorpe.

AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Seahawks’ Thorpe, Forks’ Dahlgren to head football camp

FORKS — Seattle Seahawks defensive and special teams coach Neiko Thorpe will be holding the second annual EZZZ Youth Football Camp at Spartan Stadium in Forks, with former Forks standout Luke Dahlgren joining him.

Dahlgren is now a star player for the Eastern Washington Eagles. Thorpe was a star player at Auburn University, winning a BCS championship. He later went on to play defensive back for the Seahawks, where he was named captain.

The camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on July 5. To secure a spot, people can go to https://tinyurl.com/EZZZCamp. The cost is $140, which includes lunch and a T-shirt. There are group and sibling discounts available.

Halberg, Chambers picked

SEATTLE — Neah Bay’s Makyah Chambers and Port Angeles’ Gus Halberg have been selected to play in the 2025 Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association all-state futures games.

The teams are made up of the best seniors from around the state. Chambers was selected to play for the Class 1B team which will take on the Class 2B team. Halberg will play for the 2A team that will take on the 1A team.

Luke Morris of Bainbridge was the other Olympic League player chosen for the 2A team.

The games will be played Saturday at Bellevue College. The 1B vs. 2B game will be held at 12:30 p.m. and the 1A vs. 2A game will be held at 2 p.m.
