Sea Hawkers club meeting on Monday

PORT ANGELES — The Olympic Peninsula Sea Hawkers, a Seattle Seahawks fan club, will meet at Smugglers’ Landing, 115 E. Railroad Ave., at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The group will discuss the upcoming Sea Hawker Banquet next month at the Bellevue Hilton, a tour of CenturyLink Field for club members and the club’s Adopt-a-Highway program.

Club members come from all across the North Olympic Peninsula.

Swim team market

SEQUIM — The Sequim High School girls swim team will hold a Spring Market at the school cafeteria, 601 N. Sequim Ave., on Saturday and Sunday, April 22-23.

The market will offer vintage items, farmhouse, decorations, jewelry, LuLaRoe clothing, art, candles, plants, homemade gifts and raffles.

Admission is free, but the team will collect nonperishable food items for donation to the Sequim Food Bank.

Lions roar in win

PORT ANGELES — Elisha Dujue’ drove home four RBIs, all in the first inning on a single and a double, as Lions cruised past Elks 12-2 in Cal Ripken League major baseball action Thursday.

Kai Ferguson also singled and doubled in that big first inning for Lions and Payton King doubled twice and Kason Albaugh singled.

Ferguson earned the win for Lions. He tossed two innings, giving up zero runs, zero hits and striking out three.

Lions had nine hits in the game. Dujue’, King, Ferguson, and Albaugh each collected multiple hits for Lions.

Hunter Wright led Elks with one run batted in. He went 1 for 2 with a walk.

Huskies hire Wynn

SEATTLE — Washington has hired Jody Wynn as the women’s basketball coach to replace Mike Neighbors, who guided the Huskies to the Final Four in 2016.
