Roughriders host boys hoops camp

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles boys basketball program’s youth basketball camp for boys entering third through eighth grade will be held Monday through Wednesday.

The camp will run from 5 p.m. t0 7 p.m. each evening at Stevens Middle School in Port Angeles.

Cost is $40 per camper and all players will receive a T-shirt.

Port Angeles coaches and players will run the camp.

“We are excited to work with the players who will one day be Riders,” head coach Kasey Ulin said.

Players can register the day of camp beginning at 4 p.m. at Stevens.

Basketball tourney

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles boys basketball program will host the Roughrider Summer Classic Saturday and Sunday at the Port Angeles High School gymnasium.

The tournament will have varsity and junior varsity brackets. Teams from Port Angeles, Forks, Kingston, Bremerton and Tenino will participate.

Games will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday and run until 9 p.m.

Sunday’s games will begin at 9 a.m. with the championship game slated for 4 p.m.

All proceeds go directly to the Port Angeles boys basketball program which help cover the the team’s summer expenses.

Port Angeles will wrap its summer schedule at this tournament. The Riders are 27-8 so far and will have played at least 40 games by tournament’s end.
