PORT ANGELES — Jim “Rocky” Root recently carded his second career hole-in-one while playing at Peninsula Golf Club.

Root aced the 150-yard par-3 17th hole using his 6-iron. The shot was witnessed by Al Osterberg, Dick Martin and Mel Triggs.

Cedars Women’s group

SEQUIM — The Cedars at Dungeness Women’s Golf Association is conducting weekly play every Tuesday morning.

In their most recent reported outing, Linda Hash won the game of Par 4s with a score of 41 and also had the lowest putt total with 32. Hash chipped in a shot on No. 1 and birdied holes No. 2 and No. 9.

Jan Clendening was second with 46 strokes, while Bobbie Piety had the second-lowest putt total, 35. Piety also birdied hole No. 2.

Storm King soccer

AGNEW — Tryout registration is underway for Storm King Soccer Club for boys born in the years 2005-2014 and girls born between 2008-2014.

Tryout sessions are planned in May at the Agnew soccer fields, 1240 N. Barr Road.

• Girls born between 2011-2014: May 17.

• Girls born between 2008-2010: May 12.

• Boys born between 2012-2014: May 19

• Boys born in 2008, 2010 and 2011: May 13

• Boys born in 2009: May 26.

• Boys born in 2005-2007: To be determined after the high school season concludes.

Players need to bring shin guards, cleats, soccer ball and water.
