AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Registration set for Future Riders football

PORT ANGELES — An in-person registration event for Port Angeles’ Future Riders Youth Football program will be held Tuesday, July 31.

The sign-up event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Vern Burton Center, 308 E. Fourth St.

Registration is open to players in grades one through six.

Cost is $100.

Players will need a copy of school documentation like an immunization record or registration to prove their grade level.

Practices will begin in mid-August.

PC hoops camp

PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula College Kids Basketball Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday.

The camp is for players ages 6 through 16.

Players should bring gym shoes, a water bottle and a basketball.

College coaches and athletes will instruct the camp.

Cheer/grid camp

SEQUIM — The Sequim Wolf Pack hosts a football and cheer camp from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at the Sequim High School practice fields off of Fir Street.

Cost is $35 for either camp. Cheer camp participants are asked to wear tennis shoes and comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle. Football camp participants are asked to wear tennis shoes or cleats and bring a water bottle.

Sequim Wolf Pack registration is open now. Cost is $160 per football player, $125 for other siblings; cheer is $85, with $70 per other siblings.
