SEQUIM — Registration is open for the Sequim Sunshine Festival Sun Fun Color Run, scheduled for an 11 a.m. start on Saturday, March 5. The event will follow all state and county safety restrictions.
This family-friendly event begins and ends at Carrie Blake Community Park and has a 1k and a 5k option, with color stations along the course.

Registration includes a Sun Fun Color Run T-shirt, race bib, finisher medal, sunglasses, a neck gaiter face covering and a starting line color blast bag.
Fees increase on Feb. 1. Event space is limited and the event is expected to sell out.

Razor digs slated
OLYMPIA — Shellfish managers with the state Department of Fish and Wildlife confirmed the next round of digging can proceed as planned from Friday through Jan. 20.
“Even though it was a little cold, the digs on New Year’s Eve and Day drew more than 15,000 diggers to the coast,” said Dan Ayres, coastal shellfish manager. “Each digger took home an average of 14.5 clams with most getting word that the daily limit is now back to 15 clams.”
Diggers are reminded the daily limit has reverted to the standard 15 razor clams. Under state law, a daily limit consists of the first 15 clams dug regardless of size or condition, and each digger’s clams must be kept in a separate container.
Shellfish managers confirmed the following digs during evening low tides will proceed as scheduled, after marine toxin results from the Washington Department of Health showed razor clams were safe to eat:
• Friday, 4:43 P.M.; +0.4 feet; Long Beach.
• Saturday, 5:22 P.M.; +0.1 feet; Long Beach, Twin Harbors, Copalis.
• Sunday, Jan. 16 5:59 P.M.; -0.2 feet; Long Beach, Twin Harbors, Mocrocks.
• Monday, Jan. 17 6:34 P.M.; -0.3 feet; Long Beach, Twin Harbors, Copalis.
• Tuesday, Jan. 18: 7:08 P.M.; -0.4 feet; Long Beach, Twin Harbors.
• Wednesday, Jan. 1 7:41 P.M.; -0.4 feet; Long Beach, Copalis.
• Thursday, Jan. 20 8:14 P.M.; -0.2 feet; Long Beach.
Not all beaches are open for every dig, so diggers are encouraged to make sure their intended destination is open before heading out. Diggers should also continue to respect coastal communities and residents by following local and state health guidelines.
The most successful digging occurs between one and two hours before the listed time of low tide. The early part of the outgoing tides on Jan. 14-16 will occur just before sunset, a rarity during the winter season.
No digging is allowed before noon during digs when low tide occurs in the afternoon or evening.
