AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Registration now open for adult soccer and more

SEQUIM — Registration for the spring Sequim FC adult (16-plus) soccer team is open.

There will be eight games this season and the first game of the season is March 25.

The cost is $40 per person and uniforms will be provided. Players who are 16 to 17 years old must have a parent sign the registration.

Bike tuneups

PORT ANGELES — People can take advantage of the Olympic Discovery Trail’s annual bike tuneup fundraiser through April 30 to help raise funds for the trail.

All of the of donations go to the Olympic Discovery Trail.

The coupons for the bike fundraiser are $65 and can be obtained by going to this website: www.tinyurl.com/ Biketunebenefit

The coupons will pay for labor at participating bike shops.

Participating shops include Bike Garage, Sound Bikes & Kayaks in Port Angeles; Sequim Bike Works, Ben’s Bikes and Pedego in Sequim; and The Broken Spoke, PT Cyclery, The Recyclery and Williwaw in Port Townsend.

Volunteers needed

PORT ANGELES — Volunteers are needed for the upcoming Frosty Moss Relay to be held on the North Olympic Peninsula.

The Frosty Moss will be held from the Sol Duc Valley to Blyn on Feb. 29. The race is looking for volunteers from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to supervise a baton exchange station at the Dungeness River Center at the Railroad Bridge Park outside of Sequim. This involves setting up a tent, table, lighting and verifying the exchange of batons.

Pizza and a heater will be provided. Anyone interested should contact Brian Anderson at info@olympicdiscorytrail.org or at 360-775-5395.
