Women’s hoops league forms in Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES — Signups are open for a women’s basketball league sponsored by the city of Port Angeles Parks and Recreation Department.

The league is open to ages 16 and older and will open play the week of Sunday, April 9, with games set for Stevens Middle School and the Vern Burton Community Center.

The cost is $400 per team.

Players without a team can phone and ask to be placed on a free-agent list.

The deadline to register is Monday, April 3.

Irrigation run/walk

SEQUIM — The 2017 Irrigation Festival Fun Run 5k run/walk starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 13, in front of the J.C. Penney’s parking lot, 651 W. Washington St.

Organized by Sportsfit Training Center and the city of Sequim, the out-and-back 5K race starts near the parking lot and goes east on Washington Street to a turnaround point at Shipley Center on East Hammond Street.

Prizes are awarded to the first male and female finishers. Cost is $25 per participant. Runners/walkers are asked to be clear of the course by 10:55 a.m. in time for the following car parade.

Coed soccer league

PORT ANGELES — Registration is underway for a coed adult soccer league offered by the city of Port Angeles Parks and Recreation Department and Peninsula College.

The season will begin Sunday, April 9, with games scheduled at Peninsula College.

The cost is $55 per player for the Silver Division and $65 per player for the Gold Division.

Register at the Parks and Recreation office, 308 E. Fourth St.
