Prep football officials meet

PORT ANGELES — The North Olympic Football Officials Association will meet at the Vern Burton Center meeting rooms, 308 E. Fourth St., at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

All registered officials should attend, as well as anyone interested in becoming a high school or middle school football official this season.

New rules for the 2017 season will be reviewed and plans for training and future meetings will be discussed.

Youth soccer

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles Youth Soccer Club registration will wrap up Saturday at www.paysc.com.

Youth born from 2003 to 2013 are eligible to participate. Those born in 2003, however, can only be middle school students.

PT Football/cheer

PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend Braves will hold a football and cheerleading camp for kids in grades one through six from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at Blue Heron Middle School, 1919 San Juan Ave.

The cost for the camp is $20. Camp instructors will include Port Townsend High School football players.

Nicholls in Chicago

CHICAGO — Grandmaster Robert Nicholls of Port Angeles’ White Crane Martial Arts is representing the West Coast at the International Masters Seminars in Chicago at the National Taekwondo Federation headquarters.

As the regional director for the organization, Nicholls will be reviewing the required knowledge for the World Taekwondo Federation with their representatives who are coming in from South Korea for the event from headquarters in Moju, South Korea. For the World Koryo Gumdo sword arts, the head instructors will come in from their headquarters in Seoul, South Korea.

At the conclusion of the seminars, black belts from schools throughout the America’s will attempt to upgrade their rank in front of the International Grandmaster panel, on which Nicholls will sit and judge the prospects.
