AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Port Angeles teams place at Dick Brown baseball tournament

PORT ANGELES — The PA 10s and PA 11s both finished second in their respective divisions during the 23rd annual Dick Brown Memorial Youth Baseball Tournament held this weekend at Lincoln Park.

A total of 16 teams from as far away as Anacortes and Federal Way participated in the tournament.

The PA 10s came in second in the 9/10 Division. Winning this division was the North Seattle Wolfpack. The PA 9s finished third.

In the 11 Division, the PA 11s finished second to the Edmonds Baseball Association.

The Islanders won the 12 Division.

Full results include:

9/10 Division — North Seattle Wolfpack, first; PA 10s, second; PA 9s, third; Anacortes, fourth; Mudcats 10, fifth; Federal Way Outlaws, sixth.

11 Division — Edmonds, first; PA 11s, second; OS Bulldogs, third; Mudcats 11, fourth.

12 Division — Islanders, first; Kitsap Ospreys, second; Legends Baseball, third; PA 12s, fourth; Mudcats, fifth; Federal Way Outlaws, sixth.

Coats for Kids tourney

SEQUIM — Sponsors are needed for a Coats for Kids fundraising golf tournament being held at Sky Ridge Golf Course on Sept. 11.

Coats for Kids, based in Sequim was founded in 1996 to help area children in need of coats or shoes.

Sponsors can sponsor either a hole for $100 or a prize. For more information or to pick up a sponsor’s form, prospective sponsors can contact Heidi Albrecht at 425-941-4246 or Karen Lewis at 360-460-0380.

The tournament will be a four-person scramble with a cost of $50 per person. Golfers can register at Sky Ridge or contact Albrecht or Lewis.
